How many amazing journey’s have begun with the phrase “let’s go for a ride?” If you think your journey will take place in a 1960 Corvette Roadster, then you’ll be glad for the three video series which The Vette Net has put together. Click here for the first video, where we sit in the passenger seat while a driver starts this beauty. The 283/230 engine, bored .030 over, starts right up, and then we’re off! The cameraman is extremely helpful as he directs and narrates the action in the video, letting us know when we’ve hit 4th gear with the non-original 4-speed transmission. It’s smooth running for the entire length of road, and will make you wish there was more. The second video is a classic walk around. The restoration, completed in 1991, still shows well. The Tasco Turquoise and white cove exterior looks brilliant as it rolls out of the garage. They lift the hood so we can see the engine running, get a peak at the blue interior, and follow through toward the 3.36 rear end, where they lift the trunk. They use the third video to show the original gauges working just as you would hope. The RPM, water temp, fuel, battery and oil pressure gauges all look to be operable. The first person camera work here helps to put the viewer in the seat, exactly where they want to be.
