1957 Studebaker Pro Touring

1957 Studebaker Pro Touring

This week we introduced you to a new member of the Cars On Line Dealer Network, a classic car dealer in the York, Pennsylvania area called Legendary Rides. Although they have all kinds of collectible cars and trucks for sale, they seem to have a proclivity for finding specialty classic custom hot rods and street machines. With that in mind you’ll like what you see here with this highly desirable 1953 Studebaker Pro Touring custom which they just posted for sale. The reason for the popularity of the streamlined ’50s Studebakers is that they performed so well in speed trials in places like the Bonneville Salt Flats. Their “wind tunnel” type design was so far ahead of its time. Hot rodders love them because they love to improve on an already fast car.

If you pop the hood you’ll draw a crowd. It’s all polished and aluminum. According to the ad, this Studebaker is powered by a big 383 stroker V8. They say they interior has been completely redone and is covered in matching tweed fabric. The interior has been completely redone with just about everything being one off from the door panels to the headliner.

There aren’t very many of these air streamed Studebakers around anymore. Don’t let this one get away. See the photos in the ad: 1953 Studebaker Pro Touring. It is probably best described as a driver class car. But look at the potential here!

This car has been SOLD.
