Pierce Arrow held to its guns and kept using large displacement T-head 6-cylinder engines while other manufacturers started to trend 8-cylinder and Twin Sixes. The engine they went with, the big horsepower 6-cylinder engine, was known for incredible power and smooth, near silent, operation.

The 48 horsepower, 525 ci T-head twin plug, 24 valve beast of a machine runs with exposed valve springs and a shaft-driven oiling system. A dash-mounted hand pump pressurizes the fuel system manually.
