“Has there ever been a more dramatic car than the 1935 Auburn 851 Speedster?” asks Streetside Classics of the 1936 Auburn Speedster Replica they now have for sale in Charlotte, North Carolina. It features a fiberglass body that is true to the original.
Here’s what Streetside Classics had to say:
The bright yellow paint was recently refinished and is believed to be this particular car’s original color. The 2-year-old interior is substantially more updated than the bodywork, with gorgeous two-tone buckets tucked snugly together in the tiny cockpit. The darker leather is actually ostrich skin that adds interest and texture to the upholstery. While the original was powered by a supercharged straight-8, this one is significantly more reliable and easy to service being a 351 cubic inch Ford V8.
