It’s hard finding an original wood wagon with wood preserved enough to show, but that exactly what is happening with the 1949 Buick Super Woody Wagon listed out of Shingle Springs, California.
The seller states that it’s as close to original as you can get. All the original wood was sanded and stained to preserve it. The carpets were changed to clean it up. Those are the only cosmetic changes made. He believes this wagon to have only 41,000 original miles. A service sticker from Texaco states the mileage was 37,000 when the sticker was dated in 1981. The original Buick Straight 8 runs perfect and the Dynaflow transmission shifts as it should. There are no noises from the rear end or anywhere else. The wagon cruises at freeway speeds with no problems.
There were only 1,831 of these 1949 Buick Super Wagons made and only a few are likely to still remain.
