Cars On Line has been covering the Barrett-Jackson Auction for the first time ever at Hot August Nights. This premier sale begins a new tradition where the world’s most famous auction company (the Barrett-Jackson) comes to the world’s largest collector car event (Hot August Nights.) It’s a match made in Heaven. Click here for a list of cars and what they sold for.

The list of daily events at the 27th Annual Hot August Nights was unbelievable. Almost every large Reno casino has set aside a huge area for car show participants to “show and shine.” This year the show judging was a little more formal. Each of the casinos constructed a judging stand and parade lanes for the cars as they win awards.

The winners of each day’s Show and Shine at the different casinos were in the running for the Barrett-Jackson Cup™, a new award for this year sponsored by the Barrett-Jackson company. The winning car and owners were honored on the stage of the Barrett-Jackson Auction at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The event was televised live on SPEED TV. The winner also received a coveted LS3 Chevrolet Performance crate engine and $20,000 in cash.
