Carroll Shelby’s 2006 Shelby GT-H

2006 Shelby GT-H

Sometimes it’s who owned the car that gives it collector value. Orlando Classic Cars has a 2006 Shelby GT-H (first year they made them) which was bought back from Hertz Rent-A-Car for the personal use of Carroll Shelby himself.

#457 is 1 of 4 Hertz cars that Shelby American Inc. purchased back from Hertz when Hertz began selling the fleet. It’s one of two purchased for Carroll Shelby and his wife Cleo to use, the other two were for Shelby American executives. GT-H #457 had 19,000 miles on it when it was removed from the rental fleet and sold back to Shelby American Inc. Documents include a copy of the Nevada title, copy of registration and photos of Mr. & Mrs. Shelby in this car displaying the Nevada plate which matches the registation. In addition #457 features Shelby GT500 wheels (installed by Shelby) and prototype air ducts in the front valance – a feature that showed up on the ’07 GT-H convertibles. When the car was sold by Shelby American Inc. it had 35,000 miles on it, it was sold to a retired Hertz executive who flew to Nevada and drove the car home to Florida. Lots of documentation included.
