The term “kahuna” is steeped in mysticism, originally being a Hawaiian word for a priest, healer, sorcerer or expert in a particular field. It later became popular among the surfing community as a title for the best surfer on the beach. Either meaning could be considered appropriate when searching for the reason behind the naming of this 1956 Chevy Nomad Pro Street, called “The Big Kahuna.” The Monster 509 big block engine with water-cooled 871 blower ensures few other 50’s cars will present opposition to this one!
