“This 1968 Porsche 911S Targa is a European only model that is further rarified with some outstanding and rarely seen options,” says Dan Schmitt & Co in St. Louis, Missouri. What’s more, they say it’s one of only 442 911S Targas produced worldwide in ’68.
Here’s what the dealership told us:
This Signal Green 1968 Porsche 911S Targa comes with the optional 100-liter fuel tank, which was a rare factory option designed for rallying across the European countryside. From there it’s on to the Webasto heater, a separate gasoline powered heater residing in the boot. We would be remiss if we left out the rarely seen Elephant Hide trim covering the doors and dash, exhibiting an extremely well preserved look and is very likely original to the car. This car has it all: incredibly options, highly desirable colors, a beautiful restoration, making it perhaps the rarest most distinguished early 911S to be found anywhere.
