Rare 1957 Mercury Turnpike Convertible Pace Car

Here is a car that is very rare but, at the same time, very affordable. A California collector/dealer has listed a 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser Convertible Pace Car for sale. Over the years we see these occasionally, but there were not many of these unique Turnpike Cruiser Convertibles made, let alone the Indy Pace Car edition. It was Mercury’s lowest production car in 1957 with just 1,265 Pace Cars built. It was also the most expensive going for $4,103 at the time.

The collector who is selling this one says only a few hundred of these cars are now known to exist. He says this one is all stock with the Lincoln 368 ci V8, Push-button Cruise-o-matic transmission, power top, power steering and brakes. It also comes with the Continental kit as part of the Pace Car package. Add this to your collection and you will impress a true connoisseur.
