Always looking to be one-up on the competition in the muscle car wars of 1970, Ford Motor Co came out with the half-year edition of their little Falcon. Only instead of a six cylinder engine or a small block V8, they shoe-horned a 429 SCJ big block into the little Falcon. Talk about a “pocket rocket.” These cars were pretty rare and mostly were meant for the track. But a collector from Mission, Texas has listed one for sale here on Cars On Line.com at a very affordable price. He says his 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon 429 SCJ is 1 of 27 built with the C Code 429 SCJ, C-6 column shift automatic, and 3.91 rear end.
The Texas owner says the car has only 29k miles and has been garaged all its life. He says it was raced in Rhode Island, where the original owner also drove it on the street. From 1974 to 2011 it sat in storage. This car has never been restored. It comes heavily documented. The engine was rebuilt but the seller says he has never started the engine. As it stands it does not run. However, for the right collector, this is a dream car come true, and at $23,850 it will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday.
This car has been SOLD.
