Since 1970 there had been no Boss 302 Mustang in production. It was in 1970 that Parnelli Jones and Ford won the SCCA Trans Am Championship on the shoulders of the first generation Boss 302. But not until 2012 did we see the return of the Boss 302 to the Ford stable.
This 2012 Mustang Boss 302 from RK Motors Charlotte is said to be the first of the second generation Boss 302’s according to production numbers. “Combining a high performance mod motor with a track-tuned suspension, this bright orange pony is the first second generation Boss ever produced,” they wrote in their description of the car. They say it is #001 produced at Ford’s Flat Rock assembly plant. The Competition Orange Boss has hardly seen any road time with less than 1,000 miles shown on the car. What a car for a collector to own!
