A classic car dealer from Palatine, Illinois has just posted a very desirable 1969 COPO Camaro 427 for sale this week. American Muscle Cars has a very desirable COPO Camaro and the price is very reasonable. Normally a real deal COPO would command a quarter of a million dollar price if it is in No. 2 condition. But this one comes at a deep discount to the average value.

American tells us that the car has been in the possession of the same owner for the past 24 years, which means most collectors have never seen this one. They say it is a real COPO that has been documented by Camaro historian Jerry MacNeish. The X44 Camaro is one the L72 427 cars ordered through the Central Office Purchase Order process at Chevrolet, according to MacNeish. The L72 was a four-bolt main big block rated at 425 hp. In the ad it says this one has the M40 400 Turbo automatic transmission and 4.10 posi traction 12-bolt rear end. Only about 1,015 COPO Camaros like this one were thought to have been built. MacNeish says this one was one of only two with this configuration. It is one of the truly rare and desirable muscle cars offered for sale this week.
