They don’t get any more rare than this! Gateway Classic Cars, out of their new Indianapolis showroom, posted a 1970 Ford Torino Talladega 428CJ for sale yesterday. Talk about a rare muscle car … this one was born to run NASCAR. In 1970 Ford made 749 of these cars to ensure they would be homolagated for NASCAR racing. All Talladega models were outfitted with a 428 Cobra Jet engine, a C-6 3-speed automatic transmission, running to a Ford 9″ rear end with 3.25 gears. Every Talladega came with a black bench seat interior with a column shift and were limited to 3 color choices of Wimbledon White, Presidential Blue, or Royal Maroon.Gateway tells us that this 1969 Ford Torino Talladega is powered by its original, numbers matching 428 Cobra Jet engine, backed by a C-6 3-speed automatic transmission, running to a Ford 9″ rear end with 3.25 gears with only 59,230 actual miles!
