Hit the road Corvette, there’s another Chevrolet muscle car taking the lead! In a surprising turn-around from one month ago, Camaro has emerged as the most sought after muscle car among internet buyers, claiming 16.29 percent of internet searches last month (See our Camaro Section). The last time the Chevrolet powerhouse found itself in the lead was September 2013.
Each month the Cars On Line staff analyzes statistics from Google and Bing search engines in order to understand consumer trends. This month there was a shake-up in the rankings. Pontiac GTO continued to creep up the rankings, claiming 12.20 percent of internet searches to land comfortably in second place. Meanwhile Corvettes dropped to third, down two spots from our previous “Top Ten Most Popular” list for muscle cars. View the Top Ten Muscle Cars below.
It was no surprise to see Ford dominated the classic car market again this past month. According to Google and Bing statistics, 13.65 percent of classic car buyers were in pursuit of something built by Ford (See our Ford Section). For the sixth month in a row, the Ford F100 pickup was the vehicle driving the most interest. The classic truck was so popular it made up 3.80 percent of internet searches for classic vehicles. There were only minor changes to the rest of the classic car rankings. Dodge jumped up three spots to land in fourth place. Meanwhile Rolls-Royce once again found itself off the list completely. You’ll note this was the first time in as many months that Mercury made an appearance within the Top Ten.
