1937 Cadillac V16 Custom Imperial Cabriolet

Auctions America is here with a new auction format, the “Bid Anywhere Auction*,” and is highlighting this incredible 1937 Cadillac V16 Custom Imperial Cabriolet. It was ordered new by MGM Studios’ GM and Head of Publicity, Edgar “Eddie” Mannix. We’re told this 1937 Cadillac V16 has a superbly balanced 452 ci (195 horsepower) engine, 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission, and rides on a 154-inch wheelbase; the longest wheelbase for any American production car, eclipsing Duesenberg’s longest wheelbase by half an inch. This car is one of 50 Cadillac V16’s made in 1937, and one of only two Custom Imperial Cabriolets.

This car has been SOLD.

*You’ll want to mark November 21st off on your calendar. That’s when Auctions America will be holding their first “Bid Anywhere” auction. The twist is that you don’t have to go anywhere special to attend the auction … it will be held on your computer screen online. And unlike Ebay or other online auctions, there is actually a live auctioneer calling the auction in real time. Within three to five minutes you’ll know if you have bought the vehicle. You won’t have to wait 10 days to find out who won.
