Maybach 62 S Sedan
Looking like a European style limo you can almost imagine this sleek 2012 Maybach 62 S sifting through traffic on the Autobahn at perilous speeds carrying a James Bond antagonist to his posche lair to plan his next plot to dominate the world. The Maybach is more a car to aspireto than to own. Finished in Baltic Black with Silver Zeppelin stripes, and an alpine white interior with black piping and trimmed in silver carbon fiber, they say this is a one-of-a-kind build by Maybach. More important, Exotic Classics.com tells us it is the last Maybach ever made. The Maybach was the symbol of German luxury cars originating way back in 1909. In 2002 the name was brought back by Daimler AG to form a high end luxury car line. But the last cars were produced in 2012 as Daimler sought to cut its losses on the luxury car venture. They say about 3,000 Maybachs were sold during the retro experiment. They were all born to be collectible. Given its provenance, the last 62 S is an historic car which deserves white glove care and preservation. Exotic Classics.com has put the car on the market for sale this week. Will it go to a private collection or a museum? What’s your call?
