When asked which Shelby Mustang was his favorite Carroll Shelby would always comment that he was most fond of the Shelby GT500 KR Convertible which he produced in 1968. Hecalled his favorite car the “King of the Road” which was a play on the popular Roger Miller song at the time. This week a 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible was listed by the famous Mustang Ranch in Littleton, Colorado. They tell us that there are only 800 miles on the car since restoration work was begun, and they state that the 428 CJ big block motor is numbers matching. Some of the repairs that still need to be completed include replacing the “dynamite stick” tail lights. There are also parts needed to make the car correct. They are offering it for sale now in case someone would like to finish it to their taste. Click here to view a walk-around video on this highly bred Pony car.
