With all of the negative feeling in the U.S. economy these day, stock market hitting new lows and slow growth in retail businesses, oil companies going bankrupt, there is some serious price restructuring in the collector car market as well. Today a nice 1963 Corvette Convertible from Foxboro, Massachusetts is being offered for sale by a private seller. His price raised our eyebrows. True, the beautiful roadster is not have a correct engine, it has a small block 350 instead. But it is the original Riverside red and the seller says it has been off-frame restored. He says the carpeting and weather stripping still needs to be completed. You may want to have it inspected to see how much work you are getting into. But, if you have always wanted a Stingray roadster, man, here is a way to get into it at a low cost. It will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday with a listed price of $35,900.
The seller wrote: This is a 1963 Corvette Convertible that has had a body off the frame restoration, well almost. The body was removed from the frame and the frame was sandblasted and painted. New brake lines, fuel lines, body mounts etc were installed. The car was repainted the original color of Riverside Red (code 923). The car runs excellent with a non matching 350 engine and 4-spd transmission. The soft top is new. There are a few things that need to be finished like carpeting, some weather stripping, exhaust tips etc. The underside of this corvette is better than 95% of the cars.
