24-Karat Gold 1940 Ford Convertible for Sale
You may remember this 24-karat gold 1940 Ford Convertible street rod which was the centerfold of Rod & Custom magazine in 2005 and was the logo car for the Goodguys Southwest Nationals in 2010. Click here to see the ad. The paint and body were done at Chapman Auto Restoration in Fairfield, California. It was appraised by IAA for $124,000, but is now being offered for sale at just over half that value. The private seller from Paradise Valley, Arizona says it has a modified Mustang front suspension and a Lincoln Versailles rear end. The engine is a Ramjet fuel injected crate motor which they say has less than 3,000 miles. The transmission is a Chevy 700R. The description notes: air conditioning and heat, 4-wheel disc brakes, electric windows, electric cowl vent, 8-way Cadillac power seats, tilt steering and custom leather upholstry by Gary Gardner at Baker Auto Upholstry in Fairfield.
