The very popular 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible is among the most desirable Mercury products of the muscle car era. To collectors it has a very special place in their hearts. A private seller from Lake Arrowhead, California has one for sale this week on the Cars On Line.com website. It is being featured on Saturday as the site’s DEAL of the DAY. (Click here to view more photos and information on this 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible.) This was Merc’s version of its cousin the Ford Falcon. Pre-the-Mustang, this was the closest thing to a Pony car on the market. You can see why they were so popular. This one has the rare 260 ci V8 motor, with an original interior. We suspect that it may be driver quality because they say the top is in good condition. That kind of implies that it may be the original top; something to follow up on. The owner says the title is a salvage title from more than 20 years ago. He says there is no frame damage, nor any damage to be seen on the car now. This sweet ragtop will be our DEAL of the DAY on Saturday. The asking price is just $11,900.
The DEAL of the DAY preview gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the DEAL of the DAY feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You’ll always see them here first in our weekly newsletter.
