Here’s more from the seller:

“Purchased new by an employee of General Motors, the owner got to see it be assembled at Janesville assembly plant where she worked in ’65. This car was then driven back to the plant daily for the next several years before she retired. In typical fashion, this car was only brought out of the garage for special occasions until she passed away. She specifically ordered the car in the one year only color of Iris Mist Metallic, and our Grand Prix retains 100% of its original paint and trim throughout. By definition, this Ponitac is a true survivor and retains the patina that collectors cant get enough of. The exterior paint reflects its garage kept life with all seals, glass, and trim being correct and intact. As pictured, panel gaps and pinch welds are all correct and as original. Opening the door reveals a time capsule interior that features the iconic 60s styling. In sharp contrast, this Pontiac features a plum colored vinyl interior, with bucket seats and console. Features include a wood applique throughout, a correct and functioning vacuum gauge, and AM radio with rear seat speaker.’

Under the hood is where the venerable 389 V8 resides, adorned with a single four barrel carburetor and backed by the 3 speed automatic transmission. With this setup, the Grand Prix is rated at 333 horsepower and 429 pounds of torque. This clearly pampered car starts right up and runs well, shifting effortlessly through all gears. Throttle response is accurate and handling around town is easy with the optional Power Steering and brakes.’

This Grand Prix is a true survivor and will easily make a great addition to any collectors portfolio. A thorough TLD detail has just been performed to make sure that this car meets our strict standards, so dont miss the opportunity to own a true piece of Pontiac history. Give us a call to make an appointment or drop by our showroom to see how nice this Grand Prix really is, down to The Last Detail!”

I owned this car for a few years after this article. A dealer in NC obtained this car and I shipped it to CA. Added 8 lug wheels and sold it to a collector in TX. Beautiful car. Rarely took it out, but when I did, people wanted to talk about it.
