Certified Factory Matching Numbers – the rare 1969 Camaro Z/28 comes with a certification by Camaro historian Jerry MacNeish. The seller still has the factory Protecto Plate.

What is not on this car is almost as interesting as what is. The fact that it was ordered without common options shows that it was purchased by a real muscle car buyer. No frills. Now cowl hood, no spoilers, no console.

Note that the seller says this is the original drivetrain. It says the DZ 302/290 hp engine is mated to a 4-speed with BV 4.10 positraction. In addition, this car came with the A.I.R. smog equipment which is in placed. It also came from the factory with power disc brakes. And you can see the Rally wheels in the photos.

Then take a look at the undercarriage on this 1969 Camaro Z/28.  The seller provided a multi-photo Slide Show ad so that you could see photos of the underneath of this car. (Tap this link to view the multi-photo Slide Show ad.) It is in amazing condition when you consider this is a 12k original-mile car that has not been restored.

The seller also indicates that it comes with some correspondence from the original owner.

Back in the day, this 1969 Camaro Z/28 was purchased at Chuck Sypolt Chevrolet in E. Canton, Ohio. It still has the pushbutton AM/FM radio. It has a style trim group interior.

To a collector it really matters when a car has unique qualities. It also adds value when the car is all original and with low miles. That makes it rare. And rare is everything to a car collector. For the car to be original as well as rare is very hard to come by in today’s market where most of the Z/28’s available have been restored.

One important point: when a car like this rare 1969 Camaro Z/28 is also in spectacular original condition, it jumps a condition class. So a No. 2 condition car can be considered a No. 1 if it is a survivor. In other words, origninality trumps condition class. There is no doubt in our minds that this Z/28 should command a No. 1 condition value.

The original condition of this Z/28, combined with the low miles (only 12k orignal miles), the red/red color combination and the current condition of the car make it a one-of-a-kind. This is the type of car you will find in a discrete collection.
