1941 Packard 180 Convertible by Darrin

Howard “Dutch” Darrin designed one of the most stunning cars of the classic era. His 1941 Packard 180 Convertible Victoria (an example seen here above) had Hollywood movie star type styling, way ahead of its time. It still looks spectacular today. If you are planning to attend the Auburn Spring Auction, May 11-13, 2017, next week, you will see this one crossing the auction block on Saturday. (Follow this link to see more photos and information.) It is part of an outstanding lineup of classic and collectible vehicles to be seen at the Auctions America Auction Park in Auburn, Indiana

2014 Porsche GT3 at 2017 Auburn Spring Auction

There will be a special sale of exotic and race cars from Level 5 Motorsports at the Auctions America sale on Thursday. This 2014 Porsche GT3 will be sold at No Reserve. It has the 3.8-liter, 475-hp flat six-cylinder engine, and super fast shifting 7-speed, dual-clutch PDK transmission. The one-owner car has less than 900 miles on it. The owner says it does 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. It has done a lap at the Nurburgring in less than 7:30 minutes. It has more options than you usually find on a GT3, such as heated seats, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, Sound Package Plus, and Sport Chrono Clock (with PCM).

1970 Plymouth Superbird at 2017 Auburn Spring Auction

Auctions America calls this Tor Red 1970 Plymouth Superbird a “survivor.” Other than a repaint, it is said to be all “original” and “bone stock.” The Chrysler data tag suggests it came with the V19 vinyl roof, V88 delete of the Transverse Sport tail stripe, EV2 Tor Red, H2X9 Black interior with bench seat, plus the 440 Super Commando with four-barrel carburetor and automatic transmission. This exciting “aero car” is considered to be in driver quality class. It is one of 1,935 Superbirds homologated for NASCAR in 1970. It came from the factory with a tach, power steering and power brakes.

1939 Packard Super Eight Convertible Sedan

One thing we’ve always liked about the Auctions America sale here in Auburn is that you can find true museum pieces at relatively affordable prices. Take this 1939 Packard Super Eight Convertible Sedan, for example. Auctions America has estimated its value at between $65,000 and $75,000. Where can you find one in this kind of condition for under $100,000 anymore? Right here in Auburn, Indiana, that’s where. It comes with complete owner history. They say everything is in proper working order.
Also at the Auburn Spring Auction, you will find these great values:
1954 Corvette, Blue Flame 235 ci 6 cylinder
2001 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe, may sell for $55,000, or less
1919 Buick H-49 Seven Passenger Touring, says ‘Solid No. 2 condition’
