In the Cars-On-Line.com newsletter out today, a 1938 Packard 1600 Touring was described as the “sleeper” deal for this weekend in the collector car market. (Follow this link to the COL newsletter to read their analysis.) The Cars-On-Line.com newsletter is the industry leading mouthpiece of the collector car market. They pubished their DEAL of the DAY preview for the coming week in the newsletter. The 1938 Packard you see here was noted as a very interesting find for collector car buyers.
The seller says this 1938 Packard 1600 Touring Sedan runs, drives, and is an older restoration that shows well; “appearing largely correct right down to the Green 245 cubic inch six cylinder engine.” (Read the actual ad on the Cars-On-Line.com website.) Being sold on consignment, he says the “brakes work well, tires appear new, and interior is nice appearing stock.” They further note that it has a “very solid all steel chassis” with “floors, fenders all good.” We know that there were 30,050 of these Packard Six sedans sold in 1938. It was considered a luxurious car in its day. You can drive it now while you ponder the restoration. The asking price is $14,995.
Giving you first shot at all of this week’s DEALs of the DAY, COL previews all the cars that will be highlighted in the DEAL of the DAY feature. The DEAL of the DAY is a popular feature on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page! You’ll always see them here first though.
