An interesting classic 1953 Ford Customline was transformed into a convertible by an enterprising backyard mechanic sometime ago. It will be the Deal of the Day on the internet next week. It was announce in the Cars-On-Line.com newsletter today.
This 1953 Ford Customline started out life as a 2-door sedan. It was converted into a convertible cruiser by removing the top and chopping the windshield 4 inches. The private seller from Washington, Missouri says he built a custom tonneau cover for it with headrests, as well as a removable hardtop which features frenched taillights (see the photo.) He says the straight six engine runs flawlessly mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. According to the ad copy, it still has just 63,921 original miles. He has replaced such things as the clutch, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, belt, hoses, dual exhaust, brakes, five Coker whitewall radial tires and upholstered seats. It was selected to be the Deal of the Day early next week because the asking price is only $12,850.
The Deal of the Day preview is a feature of the Cars-On-Line.com weekly newsletter. This newsletter is the standard of the collector car industry. It gives you first shot at all the cars that will be featured in the Deal of the Day on the Cars On Line home page. Often these cars sell in the newsletter before they even make it to the home page. You’ll always see them here first, though.
