Cars-On-Line selected this 1929 Ford Model A Fordor Leatherback Sedan as the top Deal of the Day on the internet for Sunday. The announcement came in this week’s edition of the Cars-On-Line Newsletter, a weeky publication of the fresh classic car ads on the internet. Although the stately old Ford sedan is a rare piece of history, it is being offered for sale at a very affordable price.
Midwest Car Exchange, a classic car dealer from the Chicago area, just posted this 1929 Ford Model A Fordor Leather Back Sedan for sale. (Find dozens of detailed photos and history at this link.) The year 1929 was the first year for the Fordor (two rear passenger doors with windows) and they called it a “Leather Back” or “Blind Back” Fordor. They tell us this one is a smart looking sedan in Medium Green with Teal trim. It not only runs well, but also has the dual sidemounted spare tires. The L-head inline four cylinder engine, 201 ci, was just tuned and runs well. They updated the charging system with a 6-volt alternator, added turn signals and dual side mirrors, moto meter and a steel trunk. Find out more in the ad copy. In the Deal of the Day preview this week, they have it slated to be the Deal of the Day on the internet on Sunday. The asking price is $15,900.
